About Us
Taking Care of Our Own was founded by Delores P. McNair with the help of husband Ronald McNair, Sr. Their families are blessed with longevity of life and independence with the support of family and friends. Love, support and autonomy are key to a quality life for seniors. Delores saw a huge gap that was not being filled by other organizations providing services for the elderly. The care offered was either less than optimal or financially impossible due to higher costs. It was clear to Delores that the gap needed to be bridged – the result is the formation of Taking Care of Our Own.
The challenges of caring for a senior loved one are a part of daily life for many families. Caregiving is difficult and very few are prepared to do it alone. We understand the challenges and obstacles all too well.
